This is the worst bike I've ridden in years | Harley-Davidson X 350 Test Ride
Flawed and overpriced, this is the Harley-Davidson X 350.
Normally I run with the idea that there are no bad motorcycles, but this bike really pushed the envelope on what I call acceptable.
Disappointing at best, and downright bad at worst.

Harley-Davidson's X 350 | Premium price - cheap feel

Harley's X 350 was recently in the garage for a two week test - and the closer I looked the more I felt it was rather disappointing.
YOU CAN DO BETTER | A Harley-Davidson X 350 Review
Просмотров 303Месяц назад
It's easy to pick on Harley-Davidson, for many want the crown of the most famous name in the game. But sometimes even the greats drop a dud and that is sadly the conclusion I came to on the X 350 which entered the most cutthroat segment in motorcycling in Australasia. Sadly for Harley, the X 350 falls short in the class due to poor quality compared to its peers, a lack of tech and a price point...

2024 Harley-Davidson Road Glide and Street Glide | First impressions review

We hit the sunny roads and warm temps of the Gold Coast to try out Harley-Davidson's new $50,495 Road Glide and Street Glide touring motorcycles. Yep, that's a LOT of money, but they're also a lot of bike. Is it a good tradeoff?

Great bike, great views, not so great 360 camera angles! The distortion I find too much to get realistic impressions of what you are sharing... which is the whole reason for my viewing. Thanks, Gord
Sat on one last week but no test ride as they’re all sold out and it felt the perfect riding position for me - comfortable like sinking into my favourite armchair, both feet flat and that ‘sit in’ rather than ‘sit on’ feeling like most adventure bikes. If it rides half as good as it feels then it’s my next bike. Sounded epic too when the dealer fired it up.
I'm going to buy one. Someone lead me in the right direction. I live in America
With an all of the LAMS bikes you not actually allowed to put exhausts etc on them to improve performance. My Kawasaki Z650RS I am not allowed to put the full power ECU version of the map on. Because Kawasaki never sold the full power version here in Australia.
It will be the same as the other Harley’s. It will be only adequate off the showroom floor until for the stage 1-4 upgrades are fitted. 😉
Sadly one of the issues is there are precisely 0 accessories available for it officially
The Benelli looks so much better.
Very difficult to understand the narrator. Bad quality too.
If English isn't your first language, RUclips has closed captions
2 grand more than my Z400, and that's got plenty more room on the tacho when you're on the freeway
Bet the dash on the Z is more accurate too!
@@OnThrottle only -7% out haha
@S1Z3M that’s better than 10! Bet you’ve got plenty of useful info at a glance too 😎
It's a Benelli not a Harley
How does this POS cost more than the Triumph 400s....
Harley tax. If it was $1500 cheaper it’d be a lot easier to swallow
Unless you are enthusiastically ready to drop $15,000 US AT A MINIMUM, H-D thinks you are not worth their time and they would just as soon you not sully their showroom with your presence. They have never been able to produce a quality entry-level motorcycle, much less one that is price competitive. The Street 500/750 and the Buell Blast are the cases in point. Their asking price for this 350 is on par with the infinitely better Honda Rebel 500, and it's well above the infinitely better Kawasaki Eliminator 450. Heck, I could get a Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 for about $700 more.
If Harley made that themselves it’d cost $25000
Yep that’s why they had to go this route. I spoke to the MD of the ANZ region and he said that to build a bike in this class in house HD wouldn’t be able to price it competitively. Like, it’s still not priced competitively (MT03 is $1000 cheaper and is better equipped) but they are in the market. Sadly for them I think the only people buying these are the ultra brand loyal folks because anyone shopping around will pretty easily be able to see its flaws.
.... and also a fold-in gear shifter and decent carry rack as standard plus a very decent sounding stock exhaust (you wonder why other manufactures make their stock exhaust sound like a sewing machine and say it's due to EPA, then offer a different exhaust as an additional cost option and which is also street legal). You are right, the Chinese looked at the competition and listened to what the people wanted and provided many riders with what they have been asking for - a smaller comfortable adventure bike that is off-road biased and can easily handle highway speeds without the vibration of a single. And while on paper it appears the 450MT is not so light weight, especially compared with say a dual sport, however, CFMoto have put that weight in a low centre of gravity package making the bike not top-heavy at all. I think if the 2nd Gen 450MT comes standard with cruise control it will be the unicorn that many have been looking for. There is a company in Asia that has already made a quick-shifter for the bike.
Ikks 350. Chur bro.
So HD did Universal Japanese Motorcycle 50 years later.
No, because the UJMs were actually good bikes.
@@edwardkeeter762 I'm sure this one is at least as good as 50yo honda. It might even leak less oil!
I believe it is important for HD to branch out and expand their line-up into other markets, but unless you do a great job right out of the gate, then there is no second chance of first impressions.
100%. From what I’ve seen it looks like many buyers are those who want the badge and are willing to look past its flaws.

A Chinese Harley. That's like a fake watch on 2 wheels!
Yuk. Why don't Harley do a real small cruiser, like the Virago 250? A bike that sounds and looks like a Harley, just smaller? This is atrocious.
They did, the Street 500. It was discontinued due in part to being too expensive to produce. To this day ticket examples sell for between $8k-$10k here in NZ
They do, the 883. What more do you need.
@@Peter.A-A not outside of the US. The air cooled Sportsters were discontinued here about 3 months before the Sportster S was announced
@@Peter.A-A LO, yeah, no, something smaller, for beginners and licences limited to lighter bikes, as most of Europe has, for example. Sub 500cc. 90% of bikes here in Spain in are smaller, even for "big" bikes, most are 600cc or less.
Excellent review thanks!
I didn’t know they actually sold these. Im pretty sure they were designed for their riders academy as training bikes. Just got my endorsement on one.
@@sethmoon7633 designed for the Asian market primarily. Used to fill the gap left by the Street 500 in Australia and New Zealand markets where learners are restricted to sub-660cc machines
Amen. Harley has been asleep at the switch for decades now, assuming their Boomer demographic would keep them afloat on nostalgia and skull-motif jewelry alone. In the process they’ve forgotten how to make motorcycles.
Yeah I was writing the article yesterday and was thinking they have become to reliant on the name to get them through
I don't reckon they've ever made a decent bike, not much bang for displacement
new KLE 500 :)
I briefly had a similar thought!
The best thing is the sound. They sound amazing
Hi mate what adapter was necessary for the cardo system
Hey, @@CStewart-u2i. I used the supplied Cardo stick on one and positioned it to fit
Think this is the bike for me :D Only thing is that the cranckshaft of the ktm engine. I saw some owners of the 790cc ktm bikes haveing complete fail of the crankshaft at 13 000 miles..interesting. I am thinking of an transalp 1987 or this one..what would be the best choice ? :D...Nice review !!!
its a very nice bike and a good price. On the other hand the T7 is 205kg wet, so some 10kg heavier. I would consider the T7 the more interesting bike but it comes with a much higher pricetag. if you are looking for a ore ofroad oriented bike, try the Kove 450, that is 50HP (in europe 40) and a wet weight of 165kg, but it is a bumper
@@ruedigerfriebel8454 sadly Kove aren’t available in New Zealand otherwise I’d be dead keen to give one a go
this is my next bike next year !!
mine leaks from putting on a 13 is that normal?
@@Leanedback450 leaks what? Leaking anything isn’t ideal, especially from around the counter shaft area
@@OnThrottle so I put a front 13t sprocket and it leaked and at the service at dealership said cause it’s too much power so it leaks from the countershaft. I put the old one back on still leaking I like the 13 because I wheelie and stunt
Great review I like the way this bike is designed to have crash bars fitted and accessories seem to be quite cheap.
While i think it's a great package, that screen, with all that scaffolding, would annoy me. That, and that silly place, beneath the bike, if you need to adjust the seat. That being said, i think this bike, is well within the Goldylocks zone, and will meet, the expectations of many early entry adventure riders, in to this category. Bloody nice look thing too😀
Competition is good for dual sports, Lets see what the japs respond with.
Been looking at buying this or the Himalayan. Himalayan seems second rate compared to this. Switch gear on the Himalayan is mushy. This bike sounds awesome 💪🏽
Ride both. They each have their pros and cons.
seems like everyone and their mother has one of these😁
Just the usual bike gets released and everyone makes content while the going is good 👍
Very good looking bike! 👍👍👍
Good job man, great review! 👍
I’ve not seen spoked wheels laced to the outside of the rim like that..
@@scottaubrey8392 they’re a tubeless design. Similar to what you see on bikes like the flagship GS and other higher end bikes in the segment.
@@OnThrottle or even the little old Zontes 125 U1 , at £3,200 !
It’s a BMW thing - well they did it first so tubeless tires can be used on a spoked wheel. This alone is a massive reason for buying this bike.
Moto Guzzi V85 TT has had tubeless wheels like those since 21/22 models, I believe!
Triumph tiger has those wheel/spoke design too
Why are you always on-offing the throttle? Modulate the power, as handfisted is never impress, even when racing. Did you take some pressure out of the tyres on that gravel? Maybe...
@@grahamrowe6278 because I was having FUN mate ;) And no, there’s no need to drop tyre pressure on gravel like that.
Haha how dare you have fun, and not take pressure out of the tyres. You’ve upset Graham now.
Great honest review . Thanks
height and inside leg?
175cm overall. You’d need to ask my wife a personal question like my inside leg 😏
I picked mine up on Saturday and just want to get back out on it again. I'm thinking about riding it to work just so I can ride it again.
You live in some damn nice surroundings, my friend. I just bought one of these a month ago, i fkng love it
Thanks mate. Definitely not many regrets moving down here from the big city. Enjoy the bike! They really are something else.
@OnThrottle I just moved out to the country myself a couple of years ago. Life is so different from the city. It's like being on another planet lol. Anyway.. enjoy. 🙂👍
Крутий байк, чекаємо їх в Україні. Буде чудова заміна KTM 390 Adventure.
Yes it will. I find it incredible that ktm shelved this engine apparently.
Nice, how tall are you?
@@MtbPoland 176cm on a good day 😎
@@OnThrottle thank you
Had mine for about a month now and still loving it, such a fun bike without the big weight feel. 😊
Nice review! We are waiting for our ones. We we there few weeks ago with our big adv's, got chased by a farm dog. Lol! Okupata Road have some nice scenic views.
I'm not a guy that normally watches reviews. But that was 1 of the best videos I've ever seen. 🤣 I was thinking for getting a 500x. I'll definitely be watching a review on that, hopefully it's a better bike. Thank You
@motonz has a review in the 500X coming. I’m choosing to not ride it after this disappointment
@OnThrottle you were like a old school father, and the bike, a terrible son 😅😅🤣😅😅😅😅
CFMOTO South Africa reckons they'll be available only in the last quarter of 2024 over here. I am starting to like this bike more and more every time I watch a video about it. It certainly looks the part and the exaust note sounds fabulous. Hopefully it will prove to be relatively reliable as well further down the line. I believe the wet weight is about 190kg?
Claimed dry weight is 175kg, so it is around there. 17.5 litres of fuel, couple of litres of oils, battery etc would put it around that 195-200kg mark. It looks substantial, especially from behind the bars with the tank fearing out in front of you but the narrow subframe means I can flat foot it with both feet. It’s quite easy to manage. I’ve not tried to put it on the ground and pick it up though 😅
Q país es, y el lugar. Xq se ve muy bonito.
New Zealand 🇳🇿
6k in europ
I really want to see this on the highway!!
Have recorded this for you. While you wait though - at 110kph indicated it sits at 6500rpm. Could possibly do with a gearing tweak if lots of highway is on the cards
